John “Jack” Frede – Filmmaker & Cinematographer

I’m an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer based in Chicago, dedicated to crafting powerful visuals and stories that honor what is good, true, and lasting.

My passion for filmmaking began in my high school film program, New Media, where I spent eight semesters learning the fundamentals of production and visual storytelling. From there, I continued my education at Taylor University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Film and Media Production while pursuing my interests in cinematography, narrative, and documentary filmmaking.

One of my favorite projects I’ve worked on is a documentary called For Isaiah. Through that experience, I came to understand how honest storytelling can leave a lasting impact on the filmmaker, the subject, and the audience alike. Since then, I’ve collaborated with ministries, businesses, and individuals to create films that reflect authenticity, purpose, and visual excellence.
